    This course outlines specific language terms to use and terms to avoid in relation to screening and early detection of autoimmune type 1 diabetes.

    It also covers diabetes language recommendations that have already been established through an important body of work known as Language Matters.

    The Community Lexicon training is designed to help anyone working in autoimmune type 1 diabetes. It will ensure your language choices are clear, consistent, and respectful.

    The Community Lexicon was developed with people both living with and working in autoimmune type 1 diabetes.

    Existing language resources were analysed to find the recommendations already in use around the world, and the course was finalised in collaboration with autoimmune type 1 diabetes experts who live with the condition, and work in the field.
